Professorship and Lectureship Opportunities

HR & Finance

Since 2006, senior members of University central functions, and their teams, have been physically embedded in the Colleges. This has hugely improved communication and understanding, engendered a much better corporate team-spirit and lead to significant efficiencies.

Human Resources

The Human Resources (HR) Directorate in the University brings together a number of different groups that work together to ensure support for the Colleges. They aid the recruitment and retention of high quality staff, help optimize the opportunities for professional development of staff at every stage of their career, and ensure the health and well-being of individuals whilst working as part of the University community through Health & Safety Services.

Finance

The Finance Office ensures that the University has strong and reliable systems of internal financial controls, including the accurate recording of all financial transactions, comprehensive medium and short-term financial plans and regular reviews of budgets and forecasts. With financial administrators integrated into each College, staff are supported in all financial matters, particularly the Heads of College and the Deans of Research who benefit from the regular, timely communication of financial information and advice from the Finance Manager.

Research Innovation Services (RIS)

Research and Innovation Services provides a range of professional services to administer the University's research income and deal with technology transfer from the University. RIS draws on its extensive knowledge and interactions with university researchers to identify technologies and discoveries with commercial potential. Dedicated staff are attached to each college. This is vital for the business development managers to build up a good understanding of the Colleges’ research portfolio, its strengths, priorities and themes.
