Annual Symposia

A key event in the academic calendar for each of the colleges is the Annual Symposium. The College of Life Sciences and the College of Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing hold annual residential meetings, to provide an important opportunity for researchers to get an overview of the range of scientific activities that are ongoing across their Divisions. These play an important role in promoting academic and social interactions between different groups and frequently lead to fruitful scientific collaborations. PhD students, postdoctoral fellows and technology providers are invited to present posters as this offers a good opportunity to participate in the meeting and to discuss research with other members of staff in the College. To promote better awareness of the research activity in the different colleges, the Dean of Research in each College attends both annual Symposia, with additional guests from each of the college having the opportunity to speak the reciprocal meeting.
