Summary:

The College of Life Sciences is one of the premier Life Sciences departments in Europe.  As part of our current expansion plans, we are building a new Centre for Translational and Interdisciplinary Research that will house Bioinformatics, Data analysis, Software Development, Mathematical Biology and Biophysics, These disciplines will be brought into juxtaposition and will allow fantastic opportunities to collaborate closely with excellent ‘wet-lab” research groups within the College of Life Sciences and so drive deeper understanding of biological systems. The new Centre will be physically linked at every level to the existing laboratories so staff can easily interact within the friendly collaborative environment.  The College has excellent core computing facilities with a dedicated high performance computing support team.

Applications are sought for Principal Investigators in Bioinformatics, Biophysical modelling, Computational and Mathematical Biology to join us in this exciting new interdisciplinary environment.  We are interested in recruiting Principal Investigators at any level (Lecturer through to Professor). We welcome applications from candidates who have established an independent research group and have been successful in obtaining research funding as well as those seeking to establish their first independent position.  We expect all applicants to have a strong publication track record and to be competitive for personal fellowships and/or programme level grant support.
