University of Dundee is recognised for stimulating the regional economy, with 16% of the Tayside economy attributed to ‘life sciences’.
Enterprise is a strong theme at the University and we strive to translate research into useful societal outcomes and the creation, incubation and support of SMEs in the Biomedical and Biotech sector.
The College of Life Sciences was recently awarded the BBSRC “Excellence with Impact Award” for “the greatest delivery of impact” in recognition of its culture and achievements.
Our staff, principal investigators, post-docs, PhD students and support staff, are committed to public engagement and give generously their time to, for example, open-doors days, talks at “Café Science”, school visits, summer projects and work experience for school students and interactive exhibitions like “Magnificent Microbes” held at our local science centre Sensation.
